VSP Ring is a high performance random tower packing used in packed towers for the stripping (removal) of volatile organic carbons (VOCs) and other gases or scrubbing (absorption) of gases which can include neutralization of acidic gases.
Typical stripping applications include the stripping from groundwater of organic solvents such as trichloroethylene, perchloroethylene, trichloroethane and gasoline components commonly referred to as BTEXs (benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylene). VSP Ring is also used in degassing applications to remove carbon dioxide or radon and in aerators to oxygenate water for aquaculture applications.

Application

VSP Ring is also used in scrubbers for the absorption (or recovery) of alcohols and other soluble contaminates. VSP Ring's low pressure drop makes it an excellent packing for odor scrubbers since it will reduce fan size and fan operating costs. VSP Ring is in use in scrubbers at rendering and municipal wastewater treatment plants achieving over 99.8% hydrogen sulfide absorption.
