The heat-pipe heat exchanger has high heat transmission efficiency. The equipment also has a compact structure and small thermal side flow resistance. Its structure is safe, reliable, and better than the heat exchanger of other structures, and the damage of a single (or few) heat pipe will neither affect the overall performance of the equipment nor affect the plant production.The waterway is outside the flue, so it requires no shutdown for replacement and overhaul.
Design life is 10 years plus. This equipment is used in combination with the start-up pre-heater, which produces steam before cold start-up, an external steam supply is not needed.
The recovery rate: 100kg sulfur burning generates 250kg steam.
The first/second stage recovery of exhaust gas generates steam;
The third stage of recovery produces hot water with
an efficiency of 36.5%, 44.2%, and 67.3% respectively.

Unit 68 Waste Heat Recovery adopts Three-stage-recovery Technology and Heat-pipe Heat Exchanger for realizing plant steam and hot water self-sufficiency. Compared with Fin-type Heat Exchanger (3-5 years life), Heat-pipe type featured in longer serving life, also when designing we reserve 20% extra Heat Pipes for spare, so the system can last for 15 years. Moreover, with the Start-up Preheater, this system can produce steam by itself for sulfur melting before the sulphonation plant start-up, therefore the external steam supply is not needed before and during the planting running.
