Aluminum sulfate is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula Al2 (SO4) 3
and a
molecular weight of 342.15. It is a
white crystalline powder.In the paper industry, it can be used as the precipitator of rosin size, wax lotion and other sizing materials, as the flocculant in water treatment, as the retention agent of foam fire extinguishers, as the raw material for manufacturing alum and aluminum white, as well as the raw material for petroleum decolorization, deodorant and medicine, and also can be used to manufacture artificial gemstones and high-grade ammonium alum.
