The bubble cap tray is the earliest typical bubbling plate tray used in the chemical industry.
It occupies a leading position in two-compartment mass transfer equipment such as distillation and absorption.
Bubble cap tray is a with risers (like pipes) around the perforations, and caps in the form of inverted cups over the risers. The caps are usually equipped with slots or holes through, which vapor comes out.

The cap is mounted so that there is a space between riser and cap to allow the passage of vapor. Vapor rises through the riser and is directed downward by the cap passing through slots in the cap, and finally bubbling through the liquid on the tray. As vapor has to pass through many passages this lead tohigher pressure drop & lower capacity than other conventional trays.It's mainly composed of a blister cap, a riser pipe, a connecting stud, a nut, and a washer component. The processed stainless steel cap, is the main component of the blister tray. There are two types of circular blister and strip blister. At present, the circular cap is mainly used, and its shape is like a bell jar. There are many teeth on the wall of the cap, and the shape is rectangular, triangular and trapezoidal.There is a riser tube in the cap to form a swivel space between the cap and the riser. The gas riser is fixed on the tray, and the gas phase enters the rotary space through the gas riser, and is ejected from the tooth gap at a certain discharge speed to form bubbling contact with the liquid on the tray to carry out the mass transfer process.
