In general, the higher the degree of polymerization and alcoholysis, the stronger the bond strength. Thermal stability: When PVA 2488 is heated to about 100 ºC, its appearance gradually changes. The partially alcoholized polyvinyl alcohol starts to melt at about 190 ºC and decomposes at 200 ºC. The fully alcoholized polyvinyl alcohol 2488 starts to melt at about 230 ºC and decomposes at 240 ºC; The higher the alcoholysis degree, the shorter the decomposition time.

PVA 2488 has good film forming performance, and the film formed has excellent adhesion and solvent resistance. It can be used together with cellulose ether humectant to improve the flexibility and water retention of cement mortar and gypsum building materials, improve mortar adhesion, reduce the amount of latex powder to a certain extent, and thus reduce the cost of dry powder doors.
