②. PC-polycarbonate, the English name is POLYCARBONATE, referred to as PC, is a non-crystalline thermoplastic. It is a class of polymer compounds with carbonate structures in the molecular chain and a general term for various materials made based on it.
PC has good mechanical properties in terms of heat resistance, impact resistance, and flame retardancy within normal use temperatures. Compared with polymethyl methacrylate, which has similar performance, PC has good impact resistance, high refractive index, good processing performance, and has UL94 V-2 flame retardancy without additives.
PC is a new type of thermoplastic with a transparency of 90% and is known as a transparent metal. It is rigid and tough, has high impact strength, high dimensional stability, a wide range of use temperatures, good electrical insulation properties, heat resistance, and non-toxicity, and can be molded by injection and extrusion.
PC has a large water absorption rate; it must be preheated and dried before processing. Pure PC is dried at 120°C, and modified PC is generally dried at 110°C for more than 4 hours. The drying time cannot exceed 10 hours. - Generally, the air extrusion method can be used to determine whether the drying is sufficient.
PC is a non-crystalline engineering material with particularly good impact strength, thermal stability, gloss, antibacterial properties, flame retardant properties and anti-pollution properties.
