Market demands for high performance products are growing and evolving. To meet these demands, formulators are using low-viscosity polyalphaolefin synthetic base stocks (viscosities ranging from 2 cSt to 10 cSt) to achieve better low-temperature properties, low volatility and better oxidative stability than mineral base stocks.They can also be added to mineral oils to enhance their performance. They can also be used with high-viscosity PAOs, metallocene PAOs and alkylated naphthalenes (ANs) to formulate cross-grade engine and automotive gear oils, as well as a variety of ISO VG industrial oils.
